Suriya are one of the most loved director-actor combinations in Tamil cinema. Accalimed directed Gautham Menon had revealed last year that he might be teaming up with Suriya for his forthcoming film. But the project didn't take off due to various reasons. Gautham Menon, in an interview recently, confirmed that he might be teaming up with Suriya in 2019 and that the talks have already begun.

has confirmed that he is producing a film directed by Gautham Menon and talks are on with Suriya and is confident that the film will start soon. Suriya is currently working on 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara. An official announcement of the project with Gautham Menon is expected soon.
Gautham Menon and Suriya first worked together in the cop thriller ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, which became a turning point in both their careers. Suriya and Menon once again worked together in the romantic drama ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’, which went on to win the National Award for Best Tamil Film in 2008.
Gautham Menon and Suriya were supposed to work on Dhruva Natchathiram. However, the film was dropped when they had a fallout.
