for Rajinikanth to honour his contribution to cinema. Rajinikanth has been off to Delhi with his family to receive the prestigious award at the

National Film Awards

ceremony that happened today. The whole arena has given a standing ovation for

when he was conferred with

DadaSaheb

Phalke Award by the Vice president of India M Venkaiah Naidu.



At this special moment, Rajinikanth thanked his friend Raj Bahadur for helping when he was a bus conductor, and encouraged him to enter the world of cinema. Rajinikanth dedicated the award to director K Balachander, who introduced him into cinema, and directed several super hit films of him. He also thanked his mates and fans who have showered uncountable love till now. He thanked the Tamil people, who made him a popular star, in Tamil "Tamil makkaluku Nandri" (Thanks to the Tamil people). Rajinikanth's lovely speech made his fans move in tears as it's a proud moment for his fans.

to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award after actor Sivaji Ganesan and director K Balachander. Vice president of India M Venkaiah Naidu praised Rajinikanth for his immeasurable contribution to cinema.
