The anticipation among fans for 'STR 49,' the first time that
Silambarasan TR and director Vetrimaaran have collaborated, is high. Despite the official announcement, complete details about the film are not out yet. Music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has now shared his thoughts. He effectively spoke about his old connections with Silambarasan and the opportunity to work on a new film. This has raised the question of whether he will join hands to compose music for 'STR 49.'
GV Prakash recalls his school rivalry with Simbu
Speaking with Kumudham, GV Prakash said, “I have known Simbu since my school days. Our schools used to compete in cultural competitions. I would play the keyboard and he would play the drums. We had a good rivalry back then,” he recalled. He continued, “After many years, we worked together in the film 'Kaalai.' Now I would be happy if I got an opportunity in 'STR 49.' I can definitely say anything only when the film starts. But if everything goes well, I will join," he said.
'STR 49' set in the ‘Vada Chennai’ universe
Meanwhile, director
Vetri Maaran has said in a recent media interaction that his new project, which will feature Silambarasan, is set within the 'Vada Chennai' universe. Due to this, speculations are rife among fans that some characters from the film 'Vada Chennai' starring Dhanush may return. The recently released promo of 'STR 49' also confirms that an official announcement for the film is very close. Therefore, there is hope that if G.V. Prakash joins as a music composer, he will bring in a unique life to music in the North Chennai world.
Silambarasan lines up new projects
Recently, Silambarasan played a key role alongside
Kamal Haasan in Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life.' In the gangster story, STR gave a strong performance as a leader who is betrayed by his adopted son. The action drama did not meet the expectations. The film is currently streaming on a popular OTT platform. After this, Silambarasan will be seen in new projects with
Desingh Periyasamy, Ramkumar Balakrishnan, and Ashwath Marimuthu, while all of these films await a take off.
