Srikanth's drug case: From defrauding around 200 people to selling drugs, police issues a details report

The recent arrest of actor Srikanth, a leading hero in the Tamil film industry, in a cocaine drug case has caused great shock among the film industry and fans. A search of his home in Chennai resulted in the seizure of 7 cocaine capsules and 1 gram of cocaine. While cases were registered against several people in connection with a clash that took place at a nightclub on May 22, a search of the house of one of the accused, Prasad, revealed various cases of fraud.

Fake government job racket and police links

In the police investigation, it was revealed that a criminal named Prasad and his associates had defrauded around 200 people of between Rs 2 lakh and 20 lakh by promising them government jobs and offering them jobs in departments including the Chennai Corporation, the Tax Department, and the Railways. Evidence has been found that several police officers were involved in this scam. Madurai Municipal Armed Police Force Chief Constable Senthil, who was in contact with them, has also been arrested. In addition, the investigation has also shed light on the background of the blackmailing activities that took place by obtaining call records and locations of individuals.

Actor Srikanth and others implicated

In this case, it was revealed that Prasad had been involved in obtaining cocaine from Pradeep, a resident of Bangalore, and his foreign friend John for the past 3 years and selling it among friends. After evidence was found that actor Srikanth was also involved in these criminal acts, he was arrested and his bank transaction details and home were searched and confirmed. The police have intensified operations to quickly arrest other criminals who are still at large.

Multiple crimes and ongoing manhunt

Similarly, the police said that this case includes various crimes such as land grabbing, government employment fraud, drug trafficking, and misuse of information technology. Several friends and associates of the accused, Ajay Vandayar, have been arrested and further investigations are underway. Chennai Police have advised that possession and sale of drugs such as cocaine and OG cannabis are punishable by law, and that the details of those involved in such activities should be reported to the police immediately.
