Accalimed director Halitha Shameem, who rose to fame with her second directorial, Sillukaruppatti - an anthology, took to her social media wrote, “SPB sir spoke to me just before the lockdown. He said “More than a singer, I’m a cinema lover. And I loved your film ma. I’m honoured to talk to you”. His humbleness struck me dumb and didn’t know how to respond. All I could manage saying was “Sir, let me meet you once and ask for your blessing in person, so that you would know how much your words mean to me. He replied “You have my blessings dear! Let’s meet sometime, bring your music director along”. I’m sure to meet you sir! Get well soon!"
The film fraternity got together online to pray for the speedy recovery of playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam yesterday. Veteran director Bharathiraja hosted this prayer session online, he was joined by reputed directors, actors, producers and singers. The meeting also included Saroja Devi, Sivakumar, Ameer, Sarathkumar, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Mano, Chithra, Kalaipuli Thanu and KS Ravikumar to name a few.
