“I had actually bought the rights in 2013 itself. We had even shot some portions then but had to stop due to fund crunch. We are now continuing the project retaining only the hero and changing the rest of the cast,” says Mohamad Issack, who has made films like Agadam and Nagesh Thiraiyarangam.

He adds, “I decided to kick-start the project again mainly because others were starting to make films on the theme inspired by Hair Is Falling. I should have filed a case when they made a film on this theme in Kannada (Ondu Motteya Kathe), but I came to know about that film only after it became a success. And when I heard they were making the film in other languages, I decided that I had to do it first in Tamil and Telugu even if I have to borrow money.”

He has cast a newcomer,

Gemini Ryker

, in the lead role. “He has actually acted in my other film, Jesi, a horror film, which we are planning to release in the next few months. We are looking at two well-known actresses to play the female leads,” he informs.

Issack says that the film, titled

Sotta

, will be an out-and-out comedy, and will deal with the issue of premature balding in a positive way.
