'Soorarai Pottru' was produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment. But the Hindi remake rights were sold by Suriya without considering the co-producer and not fulfilling commitments below the original agreement between both. So, the Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment has approached the court and requested a stay. The case came for hearing at the Madras High court, and the judge, who heard the case, passed a stay order on 'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi remake and advised both the team to find out a friendly solution.
'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi remake rights were bought by Abundantia Entertainment for a whopping price, and Vidyut Jammwal, who played alongside Suriya in the Tamil film 'Anjaan', is said to be reprising Suriya's role in the remake.
