Six years of Aranmanai 2: Interesting facts about the film

Aranmanai 2 is a horror comedy written and directed by Sundar C. The film has an ensemble star cast which includes Trisha,Hansika, Siddharth, Sundar C, Poonam Bajwa, Soori, Kovai Sarala, Manobala, Chitra Lakshmanan, Radha Ravi and Vaibhav Reddy. Music for the film is by Hiphop Tamizha, cinematography by UK Senthilkumar and editing by Srikanth NB.

The film is the second one in the Aranmanai series with many of the actors from the first instalment making an appearance here. While Hansika plays the ghost once again, Sundar C appears as Ravi, who eventually solves the problems in the palace. Kovai Sarala and Manobala were cast in the sequel as well. Santhanam was replaced by Soori in the second instalment.

Trisha and Siddharth had first worked together in Mani Ratnam's Aayitha Ezhuthu and the pair was an instant hit. They later came together for the Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, which was eventually remade in Tamil as Santhosh Subramaniam. Aranmanai 2 marked their third collaboration, only this time it was for a horror film. Siddharth and Hansika, too, had earlier worked together in films like Theeya Velai Seyyanum Kumaru and Oh My Friend.

Hiphop Adhi, who was introduced as a film composer in Sundar C's Aambala, scored the music for Aranmanai and Aranmanai as well. Interestingly, Sundar C's production house had also bankrolled Hiphop Tamizha Adhi's Meesaya Murukku and Natpe Thunai as well. However, the third instalment in the Aranmanai series had music by Sathya C.
