Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor to release in theatres or OTT?

Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s 'Doctor' directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar is one of the most anticipated films of the year. . Produced by Sivakarthikeyan's SK Productions in collaboration with Kotapadi J Rajesh's KJR Studios, the film marks the debut of Priyanka Mohan. After delay in the film's release, the latest buzz is about if the film will release in theatres or on OTT platform.
The makers of the film who had earlier announced that the film will release on March 26, changed their decision to release the film as it was close to the state assembly elections. While the film was expected to release for Ramzan, the rising COVID-19 cases in the state and country has put a huge question mark over the film's release in theatres.
With theatres shut due to the COVID-19 restrictions, its is expected that the film will make a direct premiere on OTT. But reports are that Sivakarthikeyan is still leaning towards a theatrical release while the KJR Studios have been talking to OTT platforms.
The film has Priyanka Mohan playing the female lead. Vinay, Yogi Babu, Ilavarasu, Arun play important roles in the film. Anirudh has composed music for the film. The film is said to be an action comedy and the first look poster which featured Sivakarthikeyan seated on a chair with gloves and a surgical knife in hand, had gone viral on social media.
