SIIMA 2023: Ravi Varman wins the Best Cinematographer for Ponniyin Selvan & Jonita Gandhi bags Best Playback Singer Female award

The SIIMA 2023 award ceremony is currently being held in Dubai and the Tamil category awards for Best Cinematographer and Best Playback singers have been awarded. Cinematographer Ravi Varman has bagged the Best Cinematographer award for his film 'Ponniyin Selvan'. SIIMA took to its official page to state, "Ponniyin Selvan - 1 portrayed visual storytelling at its finest! Ravi Varman, the mind behind it wins the Best Cinematographer (Tamil) award at SIIMA 2023."


Following him, singer Jonita Gandhi who crooned the 'Arabic Kuthu' for 'Beast' won the Best Playback Singer Female award. The music for the song was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and it was penned by Sivakarthikeyan. "Jonita Gandhi has won the Best Playback Singer - Female (Tamil) award at #SIIMA2023 for her enchanting song - Arabic Kuthu in Beast. Congratulations!," the post from SIIMA's Instagram account read.

'Arabic Kuthu' has also been nominated for Best Male Playback Singer and the song was sung by Anirudh Ravichander.
