The multi-starrer Neeya 2, which was initially supposed to hit screens yesterday, has been postponed by a couple of weeks. The makers claim that they had no other choice but to push the movie’s release due to lack of screens.
Director Suresh, however, is confident that the film will impress audience whenever it hits screens. “The VFX scenes has come out well and it will be interesting to watch those sequences on screen.
Neeya? (the 1979 film) had snakes taking human shapes to seek revenge, but Neeya 2 portrays the intense love story between three people, and there is no revenge angle to the story.”
Talking about his lead actors, Suresh says, “Jai will be seen in two appearances — his look as an IT employee in Chennai is different from the rugged appearance he has in the flashback portion. The transformation will be visible in his physique, too. Catherine Tresa, too, plays an IT employee, who is madly in love with
Jai. And
Raai Laxmi will be seen as a college student. It’s a triangular love story and Varalaxmi’s role adds to the suspense factor.”
The director says that the crew had a tough time shooting for a sequence at Athirapally Falls in Kerala with Jai and Raai Laxmi. “We were at a height of over 300ft and there was a scene that required Laxmi to fall into the water. The entire set-up was quite risky because a slight glitch in our planning would have cost our lives.”
