The untimely demise of actor, Dr Sethuraman, has left many in the industry shocked. Among those who have expressed their grief is Bollywood actress
Nushrat Bharucha, who debuted in Kollywood with
Sethu’s Valeba Raja.
“I heard this news late, and since then, his voice and face have been popping into my head. I’m still in shock, and I can’t believe this happened,” begins Nushrat.
Talking about the time she spent with Sethu on the sets of their film, Valeba Raja, she says, “I think Sethu and the director (Sai Gokul Ramanath) were convinced I was apt for the role.
So I signed up for the film. It was my first venture in the industry, I was the newcomer there, I didn’t understand the language. But Sethu was very, very helpful. He would help with the lines, and he had told his staff, his driver, to help me with whatever I wanted in the city.”
She continues, “My mom was with me during the shoot and even she is in shock this happened. Sethu would take me, my mom, Vishakha (Vishakha Singh, who also played the lead in the film) and our director for dinner. He had a good sense of humour, he would chitchat a lot. He was telling us about how he was going to get married soon. He was a very sorted person, knew what he wanted in life, from life.”
Nushrat adds, “I didn’t know he had a spine injury. I haven’t spoken to Sethu after the film, except for maybe a few WhatsApp messages. I haven’t returned to the industry after that and had lost contact with almost everyone. When I heard this news, it took me some time to digest it. He was so young and full of life.”
