Santhanam in Kannan’s action-comedy

Even as Santhanam is busy shooting for his current projects, he’s signed his next. This one will be with Kannan, a director he has often associated with in the past — as a comedian. The film, touted to be an action-comedy, will go on floors in the second half of this year.

Kannan, who last directed Boomerang with Atharvaa, tells us, “Santhanam has been part of most of my films, and we’ve always had fun collaborating. I think the roles he’s done in Jeyam Kondaan and Kanden Kadhalai have had a great impact on audience. When I was writing this script, I thought it would be interesting if a character like Mokkai Rasu from Kanden Kadhalai travelled throughout the film. That’s when I decided to make it an action-based comedy. I'll be producing the film under my home banner, along with MK Ramprasad's company. When I narrated the script to Santhanam, he laughed so hard that he had tears in his eyes. We will begin shooting in the next two months and will release the film by the end of this year. After Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, which did very well, expectations from him have increased and I’m confident this one will live up to them."
