Sanjana Sarathy, who impressed the audiences with her performance as Vijay’s sister in

Thuppakki

and later as Sanjana in Enai Noki Paayum Thota, is all set to make her debut in Telugu opposite Naveen Chandra.
She says, “I was very excited when this offer came my way; it’s an interesting role. It’s a family entertainer, and I play Naveen’s love interest. Avika Gor (of

Balika Vadhu

fame) is also playing an important role — as Naveen’s sister. We recently wrapped up the shoot and the post-production work is going on in full swing. I’m looking forward to making my debut in Tollywood.”

Sanjana is also working on a Tamil film, titled Ninaivo Oru Paravai, directed by debutant Rithun. “Hari Bhaskar and I play the lead in this love story. The film chronicles the life of an older couple; we play their younger version. We are still shooting and I’m having a great time working with the team,” she says.
Though she made her debut in 2012, Sanjana has done only a few films. Ask her about it and she says, “I started very young and I took up projects that cast me in sister roles. But when I wanted to break out of that stereotype, I still had sister roles coming my way. I decided to wait it out till I got good roles. I also did a few web-series during that period. A couple of directors saw my potential as an actor and are now offering me good roles. I am happy that my wait is now over.”
