Sandy: I did Moonu Muppathi Moonu because I wanted to do something serious

It is well-known that choreographer-turned-actor Sandy is playing the lead in a thriller titled 3:33 (

Moonu Muppathi Moonu

). The film, which also has Gautham Vasudev Menon in a crucial role, is directed by debutant Nambikkai Chandru.

Sandy says that he took up the film because he did not want to do a regular commercial movie, but a serious film. He says, "Soon after the Bigg Boss Tamil show, I came across many scripts that were in the commercial genre. But I wanted to do something serious and that's when Nambikkai Chandru narrated me this script. The process itself was different as he enacted every shot. He has extracted more work from me. Initially, I was not confident whether I would be able to do this character efficiently. It was Nambikkai Chandru who gave me confidence and made me perform well. I thank producer Jeevitha Kishore madam. She is very passionate about movies. She has undergone various challenges in trying to get this movie release. Shruthi has come up with an unbelievably excellent performance in this movie. We have rare combinations in the movie, but her acting is extraordinary. Music director Harshavardhan Rameshwar is an extraordinary talent. His re-recording work is brilliant."

Newcomer Shruthi Selvam plays the female lead in this movie, which has music composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. The cinematography is handled by

Sathish Manoharan

and editing is done by

Deepak S Dwaraknath

. Arun is the VFX supervisor while

Stunner Sam

is the stunt choreographer. This supernatural thriller is all set to hit screens on October 21.
