Samar to release on January 13

While the debate is going on about DTH and Viswaroopam has been pushed to Jan 25, Samar has now moved from Jan 25 to Jan 13! And it has become a Pongal release.
Actress Trisha happily tweeted, "SAMAR will be releasing worldwide on Jan 13 both in Tamil n Telugu :)" Samar was moved to Jan 25 as there were not enough theatres due to the clash of Viswaroopam, Alex Pandian and KLTA.Now that Kamal's flick is out the running it looks like Samar can get theatres for release.
The movie stars Vishal and Trisha and was recently in some financial trouble. Some distributors had filed cases against the movie's producer but it looks like everything has been sorted out. The movie was always seen to be a Pongal release but because of lack of screens had to look at other options.
