When it comes to kicking some serious butt, Samantha’s no novice. The actress has performed action sequences in some of her recent releases. But in her upcoming multilingual

Yashoda

, she seems to have taken the intensity a notch higher. Samantha recently shot a couple of stunt scenes in the film, which were choreographed by Hollywood’s Yannick Ben, and those, we hear, will be among the highlights of the film.

“We are shooting at a studio in Hyderabad, and as part of this schedule, Samantha shot two action sequences. Yannick came down a month ago and choreographed the sequences for us. Samantha told us that she’d first rehearse for the portions with Yannick. After that, we shot the scenes at the studio. She would have rehearsed for not more than four days, but she delivered a superb take. We completed the two action sequences just a few days ago,” says Hari, of the Hari-Harish directorial duo that is directing this movie.

Ask him if Samantha had to train in any form of martial art for this part, and he says, “No, not really. What we shot with her were commercial fight sequences, but in a very raw format. That’s why she had to rehearse for the portions. In the film, she has many action sequences — she will be fighting a man, and even many people at one go.”
So, who’s Yashoda? “Well, she is a normal girl who is content with her own, sweet life. But certain situations force her to take this action route. We also have an interesting flashback portion in the film,” says Hari, who had earlier helmed films including Ambuli in

Kollywood

.

The film, which is being shot in Tamil and Telugu, will also release in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. “Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is part of the cast,” adds Hari, “We will be shooting in Hyderabad for a few more days and head to Kodaikanal early next month. The edit is also on simultaneously.”
