Sam walks out of Vada Chennai, straight into Siva's film
Surprisingly, the actress has accepted the Sivakarthikeyan-Ponram film.
When actress Samantha walked out of Dhanush's Vada Chennai recently, right on the heels of the news of her getting engaged to Telugu star Naga Chaitanya, everyone assumed it was because she was planning to get hitched by the end of the year. But surprisingly, the actress has accepted the Sivakarthikeyan-Ponram film, and is all geared up to start shooting for the same. Interestingly, while the Siva-Ponram team is an old one (the duo worked together in Rajini Murugan), this is the first time that Siva is teaming up with Samantha for a film (it will be her third film with Ponram, though). Director Ponram says, 'Samantha has been confirmed as the female lead in my next, and her role will be that of a girl-next-door. Samantha's outfit and look will be very similar to the heroines of my earlier films. She is a town-girl, and yet, the audience will get to see her in a new avatar.' He adds, 'We are planning to begin shooting for the film by January 2017. As of now, we are location hunting.'
