, has been on the floors for some time now. The team recently erected a huge set of a cargo flight at a cost of `1 crore at a film studio on the outskirts of the city for this fantasy action film.
Art director LM Mahesh, who has worked on films like Goli Soda, created this set. Andrew says, “It’s an old plane, but we changed it completely. The one we got was a passenger flight. But in the film, we show it as a cargo flight. The interiors were changed fully and we did minimal changes for the exterior portions. We have also changed some portions of the exterior through visual effects, too. The film is set in 2025, so it will look like a different kind of plane from the ones we have now. The team took about four days to build the set.”
The flight set will be part of a scene in which the heroine, Bhanu Reddy, is kidnapped by the villain, played by Dev Gill. “He kidnaps her on a cargo flight.
Jai’s character appears at this spot and has to take on 100 robots. We built one dummy robot and are recreating the remaining 99 via visual effects. We had initially planned to do the entire sequence using visual effects, but the producer was ready to get a set built for the sequence,” the director says.
Andrew informs that Jai did this action scene without using a double. “He told that this is the first time in which he was doing so much action in a film. In this action scene, there were some risky stunts, but he pulled them off pretty well. Stunt director David has choreographed it in a classy way,” he says.
The film’s original cinematographer Jhonny Lal had passed away last year owing to COVID complications and now, the cinematography is being handled by Sevilo Raja.
