Though there a lot animal lovers among the general public, a lot of film celebrities are known to be animal lover and have a lot of pets. While most of the celebrities have dogs and cats as pet, a few of them also have other pet animals. Interestingly, actor Robo Shankar, who was last seen in Vikram starrer 'Cobra' on the big screen seems to be in a legal trouble for having two Alexandrine parakeets caged in his home as pets.
The parakeets were spotted on a home tour video of the actor's family on social media. The Tamil Nadu Wildlife Control Bureau seized the two Alexandrine parakeets from actor Robo Shankar’s house in Saligramam, Chennai. Wildlife crime control bureau officials, who received a complaint about this, inspected the house and seized the birds and imposed a fine on him. According reports, a fine of Rs 5 lakh has been levied on the actor, which is the maximum penalty for this violation.
In the video, the actor and his family members were seen feeding caged Alexandrine parakeets in their home. The action came after a complaint was lodged by an animal rights activist who watched a recent video of his home tour made by the actor for a popular social media channel.
