The official Tamil remake of the Hindi film ‘Badhai Ho’ is titled ‘Veetla Visesham’ and the movie is gearing up for its release in theatres on June 17. Directed and co-directed by NJ Saravanan and RJ Balaji, the film is produced by Boney Kapoor. Starring Sathyaraj, Urvashi, RJ Balaji and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles, the film is expected to be a humorous family drama.
In an exclusive interview with Etimes, the cast of ‘Veetla Visesham’ revealed that they were so excited to work in the remake film of ‘Badhai Ho’.

Actor RJ Balaji, Sathyaraj and Aparna Balamurali stated that they have already watched the film in Hindi and loved the film. “All of us in the team have already watched the Hindi film ‘Badhai Ho’ in theatres when it was released. We all loved it. So, when Boney Kapoor sir asked if we can make a remake in Tamil, I immediately agreed and I approached Sathyaraj sir and as he also liked the movie, especially the father character in the film, we all decided to go ahead with it,” said actor RJ Balaji.
On being part of the cast of ‘Veetla Visesham’, Aparna Balamurali said that the film focuses on both humour and a serious topic, it was challenging and exciting. Speaking about her character in the film, actress Aparna Balamurali said, “I loved each and every scene from the movie, especially when my character had to make RJ Balaji’s character understand the main topic. This is a serious topic that everyone in the society needs to know about, so I enjoyed shooting for it.”
The Tamil film ‘Veetla Visesham’ is not an exact copy of ‘Badhai Ho’, the movie makers have made a few changes according to audience taste as well as tweaked and added new scenes that acts as an advantage. Sathyaraj said that his favourite scene from the film was when he had to break the news that his wife was pregnant to his mother, son and other relatives.
Speaking to us about the delivery scene in the hospital, RJ Balaji and Sathyaraj said that the scene was not made in Hindi, and they had originally planned to add it. Both RJ Balaji and Sathyaraj said it was their favourite film from the scene. “Thinking that both the actor and actress on the screen have a huge scope on bringing humour and performing well, we added that scene. We can even say that the best is kept hidden for the climax scene,” RJ Balaji shared his opinion on the film's climax.
