Being tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 171', the official announcement on Rajinikanth's film with Lokesh Kanagaraj was launched long back. The title of 'Thalaivar 171' is all set to be unveiled on April 22, while the shooting of the title teaser will commence soon. Ahead of the teaser shoot, Lokesh Kanagaraj has finalized the cinematographer for 'Thalaivar 171', and it will be Girish Gangadharan, who will be cranking the camera for the Rajinikanth starrer. Girish Gangadharan had earlier associated with Lokesh Kanagaraj for Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram', and the reunion of the successful duo adds power to 'Thalaivar 171'.

After making his Tamil debut with 'Solo', Girish Gangadharan then handled the camera for the Tamil films 'Sarkar' and 'Vikram', and 'Thalaivar 171' is going to be his fourth in Tamil.

The shooting of the title teaser of 'Thalaivar 171' will commence in a day or two in Chennai, and it will be a day shoot for the team.
