Reports: 'Viruman' expected to become Karthi's highest day 1 grosser

Karthi starrer 'Viruman' has hit the big screen today, and the film is released on over 1000 screens worldwide. The latest report suggests that 'Viruman' might become Karthi's highest day 1 grosser at the box office. The rural drama receives a grand welcome from fans, and the occupancy for the first three shows of the film on day 1 is huge. According to the film’s distributor, 'Viruman' is getting three times higher responses compared to his past films, and the film might surpass all the previous numbers of Karthi in the day 1 collection.
Karthi's 'Kadaikutty Singam', which earned over Rs 11 crores worldwide on its opening day, stands as the best of the actor so far, while 'Viruman' is expected to gross over Rs 14 crores to set a record for the actor.

Karthi plays a brave and bold villager in the film, while debutant Aditi Shankar has roped in as the leading lady Director Muthaiah opting for expert stars like Prakash Raj, Bharathiraja, and Rajkiran with RK Suresh, Soori, and Indraja among others added strength to the screenplay. The director delivered yet another enjoyable rural drama. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music struck a chord with the audience.
Meanwhile, the celebrations for 'Viruman' in Madurai are quite higher than in other locations as the film’s story is set in the popular Southern city of Tamil Nadu.
