We told you that Achamindri fame director
Rajapandi will be working on a thriller with
Arvind Swami next. The latest is that actor
Regina Cassandra has been roped in to play the female lead. The director had earlier told us that this thriller is a project with minimal artistes and plenty of emotions. With Regina on board, Rajapandi says that her characterisation is something very different and will be a role that she hasn't played before.
"We wanted a performer and someone's who is very fit. Regina is one of the fittest actors we have in the industry today. When I met her for the narration, we discussed for nearly an hour and a half. She loved the story, but she wanted to get more clarity on how her role will be approached since it is different. But once she got convinced, she immediately agreed to come on board," he says.
Though Rajapandi doesn't want to divulge too many details about her role, the director says that it is a not a regular hero-heroine subject. "She has a strong role. She plays a modern girl whose moves are unpredictable. We wanted a fresh actor opposite Arvind Swami and Regina was apt for it," says Rajapandi. 70 per cent will be shot in Chennai and the action sequences will be shot elsewhere. "We are erecting a set in AVM studios for the film, where most part of the film will be shot," he informs, adding, "We are in talks with Nivas Prasanna for the music."
