Ravi Mohan’s Rs.6 crore salary dispute case: 'Brocode' actor gets a relief, next hearing on Sep 13

The dispute between actor Ravi Mohan and Bobby Touch Gold Universal Private Limited over a financial matter related to a film contract has now reached a critical stage in the Madras High Court. As per News 18, the production company filed a petition seeking the return of the advance payment of Rs 6 crore given to actor Ravi Mohan. On the othr hand, Ravi Mohan also filed a personal petition seeking compensation of Rs 9 crore for the loss incurred due to the film not being produced as per the call sheet provided. This complicated the case as both sides asserted their rights.Judge Abdul Quddus, who initially heard these petitions, decided that Ravi Mohan should pay a surety of Rs 5.90 crore as an interim order. However, Ravi Mohan appealed against this order. Following that, the case came up for hearing in a bench of Justices M. Sundar and M. Sudhirkumar. At that time, Ravi Mohan's side stated that in order to resolve the case in a fairer manner, Judge M. Sathyanarayanan had been appointed as the arbitrator. Initially, the production company opposed this procedure. However, it later accepted it. As a result, a hearing is scheduled for September 13 before Justice Satyanarayana. This procedure is expected to reduce the long-drawn-out nature of the case and provide both parties with an opportunity to present their claims directly, thus creating a clear direction for the case to be resolved.Meanwhile, the High Court directed both parties to approach the arbitrator for all relief related to the case. The judges also clarified that the requests made by the production company and the orders issued by the single judge will no longer be considered. The court noted that Justice Satyanarayana, who has now been appointed as the arbitrator, will examine the arguments of both parties and provide a final resolution to the dispute. This has increased the chances of ending the long-running dispute.
