Raksha Bandhan a bond so strong!
They might be heroes and heroines on screen, but off it, its their siblings who are the real heroes. On Raksha Bandhan, CT talks to Kollywood celebrities about their special moments with their siblings...

I have always been very protective of my younger sister Shabin. In fact, I was so possessive about her during her college days that I wouldnt let her go to college on her own.

I insisted that I drop her to college and pick her up every day.
When I was 14, Shabin had broken a crystal jar at home and my father was fuming at her. Unfortunately, he was already in a bad mood that day and this incident just fuelled the fire in him. Understanding the situation, I immediately decided to rescue her and took the blame on me. Shabin and I used to fight like cats and dogs and it came as a huge surprise to her when I did the rescue act.

I will do absolutely anything for my brother. In fact, Im launching him (Nitin) as a director this year in the Bhojpuri film industry. He always takes the flak for me. Once, when I was in class five, I took my fathers bike to a park near my home and started riding it. My brother was sitting behind me and teaching me.
By accident, I veered towards the road, smashed a car that was parked there and we both fell down. The owner got very angry and created a scene. The issue became so serious that the police had to intervene. I was so petrified that I started crying. My brother heroically took the blame!

My elder sister Shilpa has always been an inspiration to me. I used to be an introvert in school and my sister was nothing short of my role model. I still remember one incident that took place when I was in my sixth grade. My sister had forced me to take part in a play for our school annual day and had sent me for the auditions.
I was extremely nervous, but I managed to clear it. And then the real test happened. On the annual day, I was standing on the dais for the play like a nervous kid. When it was my turn to act, I almost froze and couldnt utter a word. Suddenly, I heard the familiar voice of my sister... and in a jiffy, all my tension vanished. After the play, I gave her a big hug and presented her with a crayon painting.

I dont have a blood brother, but my rakhi brother Sourav Sarkar is so close to me that I have never really felt the need of a real brother. Sourav is my uncles son. When he was born, I accompanied his father (my uncle) to bring him home. In fact, the first ever morsel of meal he had was from me. Boom, as I call him, is now in class eight and is a wicket keeper in the Calcutta junior cricket team. Hes very shy and runs away from me when I tease him, asking if he has any girlfriends. But he has said that I will be the first one to know if anything interesting happens in his life!
