Now, director Rajkumar Periyasamy opened up about his much-anticipated film with Dhanush, tentatively titled 'D55,' during his interaction at the Media & Entertainment Business Conclave. He revealed that the film was not specifically crafted for the actor but was chosen from multiple ideas he had in mind. When he first met Dhanush, he had no predetermined storyline, but the star gave him complete creative freedom to select any concept he wished to develop. This trust and flexibility allowed Rajkumar to explore different narratives before finalizing the project.

Rajkumar Periyasamy further shared that he narrated two distinct story ideas to Dhanush, and the actor picked one that is based on a real-life incident. This revelation has heightened excitement among fans, as Dhanush is known for excelling in roles inspired by true events. Given Rajkumar Periyasamy’s strong storytelling skills, especially after 'Amaran,' and Dhanush’s versatility, expectations are soaring for 'D55' to deliver a gripping and impactful cinematic experience.

'D55' is likely to take off in June 2025 since Dhanush is busy with his other projects. Dhanush's third directorial, 'NEEK,' was released in theaters recently, and the romantic drama is performing well at the box office. The multi-faceted actor is next preparing to have his fourth directorial, 'Idly Kadai,' scheduled to release on April 10, and he plays the lead role with an interesting set of supporting cast. He also has 'Kubera' with Shekar Kammula in the pipeline, and he is positioned to fascinate fans through an interesting set of films.
