It’s almost certain that superstar
Rajinikanth's much-awaited gangster drama ‘
Kaala’ will not hit the screens on April 27, as per the original plans by the producers. The ongoing strike in the industry has subsequently delayed the release of the film.
However, reports have now emerged suggesting that the makers are planning to release ‘Kaala’ on Eid weekend in June.
An official confirmation is likely to be out soon. Rumours are rife that the audio launch of ‘Kaala’ can be expected once after the strike ends. It must be noted that ‘Kaala’ has already completed the censor formalities and has been passed with ‘U/A’ certificate.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ will see Rajinikanth playing the role of a gangster, while actor
Nana Patekar will reportedly play the main antagonist. Set in Dharavi, ‘Kaala’ is reported to be a gangster drama that has a strong political angle. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film has actors
Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar,
Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani and
Anjali Patil playing important roles.
