Rajinikanth's brother Sathya Narayana Rao on Thalapathy Vijay's entry in politics: 'Let him try like Kamal Haasan'

Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay made a significant impact in Tamil Nadu politics last month by launching his own political party. His entry has sparked widespread discussion in the state, but superstar Rajinikanth’s brother, Sathya Narayana Rao, has expressed doubts about Vijay’s potential success. Rao believes Vijay’s political move may not lead to meaningful results, stating that there’s no substantial reason for him to enter politics now.

Rao was asked about Vijay's decision to enter politics during his visit to the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai. In recent videos shared by several media outlets and fans of Thalapathy Vijay on Twitter, Rao was heard saying, “Let Vijay try, like Kamal Haasan did.” While he acknowledged that everyone has the right to join politics, he was skeptical about Vijay's chances, commenting, “Vijay has political ambitions, but I don’t think he will succeed. It's difficult to win in Tamil Nadu.” Despite his doubts, Rao added that he would continue to monitor Vijay’s political activities for a while longer.



Meanwhile, Vijay’s new political party held its first major meeting on October 27, focusing on strengthening its organizational structure and passing a series of resolutions on various issues. During the meeting, Vijay and other party leaders addressed topics like the caste survey and criticized both the state and central governments for their actions. Vijay had announced the formation of his party earlier this year, and it was officially registered by the Election Commission.


On the work front, Thalapathy Vijay was last seen in ‘The Greatest of All Time – GOAT,’ directed by Venkat Prabhu. The actor recently announced his next project, ‘Thalapathy 69,’ with director H. Vinoth. There is speculation about Lokesh Kanagaraj potentially creating a sequel to Vijay’s film ‘Leo’ in the near future, although there has been no official confirmation on this yet.
