Recently, Sakurai shared how Indian cinema has left a lasting impression on him, especially Rajinikanth's unmatched screen presence.

Solid presence with a deep voice

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Sakurai admitted that he would find it nearly impossible to dub for Rajinikanth. Sakurai said, "I don’t think I will be able to. He has a very solid presence and a deep voice."

Sakurai also acknowledged how Rajinikanth’s 'Muthu' became a cultural phenomenon in Japan, as it was released in 1998, becoming the highest-grossing film from India in Japan at the time.For years, it was the benchmark of Indian cinema in Japan until SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' was released. Rajinikanth's larger-than-life persona in 'Muthu' exposed Japanese audiences to the shock and awe of Indian films, ultimately gathering a group of fans even today.
