Rajinikanth and KS Ravikumar to work together again; Is 'Padaiyappa 2' in the making?

Actor Rajinikanth was last seen in the film ‘Annaatthe’ which was released in 2021. Directed by Siva, the film did not receive much praise and got mixed reviews from audiences. The film starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu, Meena made a box office collection record and it was successfuly screened in theatres for more than 50 days.

As per the recent buzz in Kollywood, Rajinikanth has reportedly decided to unite with

KS Ravikumar

for his next. Reports suggest that the discussion has already begun regarding ‘

Thalaivar 170

’ and it is speculated to be the sequel of the super hit film of Rajinikanth – KS Ravikumar duo ‘Padaiyappa’. It is also expected that the movie will be titled ‘Padaiyappa 2’.

There is also a buzz that even Ramya Krishnan who played the role of

Neelambari

for ‘Padaiyappa’ has agreed to come on board for this film as well. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding ‘Padaiyappa 2’ or ‘Thalaivar 170’.

Meanwhile, it has also been announced that Rajinikanth will be working on his next tentatively titled ‘

Thalaivar 169

’ which will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The music and background score of the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The movie is expected to go on grounds in August 2022.
