Producer of Suriya starrer 'Kanguva' addresses criticism for 'loud' music in theaters

Suriya’s much-awaited film ‘Kanguva’ hit theaters on November 14, delivering a thrilling action-fantasy experience to audiences. Fans have been showering the movie with praise, but a section of viewers has raised concerns about the loud background music, particularly during the opening scenes.

In response, producer KE Gnanavel Raja addressed the feedback during a media interaction held over Zoom. Speaking to reporters, he acknowledged that the loudness stemmed from sound mixing issues. According to a report by Aakashavaani, Raja assured that the team is already working on fixing the problem. He mentioned that adjustments would be implemented during the night shows on November 15.


As per the report, the team has requested theater exhibitors to "reduce two points of volume" to ensure a more balanced sound. Raja also clarified that no additional complaints have been received from audiences so far and that the issue is being resolved promptly.

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty also weighed in on the matter, sharing his thoughts on Twitter. He attributed the problem to last-minute changes in sound design, which can sometimes affect the final output.

The producer further shared exciting news about the second installment of 'Kanguva’. The sequel will see Suriya return, with Karthi playing the antagonist. Raja confirmed that director Siva would start working on the second part after completing his current project with Ajith Kumar. He promised that the sequel would be grander and on a much larger scale than the first film.

‘Kanguva’, featuring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in key roles, has collected nearly Rs24 crore in India.
