Tamilnadu government last month announced that film shoots can happen by following all safety protocols without the audience. Many films began shooting after few months of lockdown and producers expressed their gratitude to the government. Though theatres remain closed, film crew were happy that the ongoing projects can be completed and have the film ready for release.

wrapped up the shoot recently. The latest is that the Covid-19 delay has caused the film 1 crore escalation.

Dhananjayan

, the producer of the film revealed that the lockdown and the delay in shooting has caused cost escalation of over Rs. 1 crore. He posted, ‘After almost 200 days of waiting due to various reasons, happy & relieved shoot of #Kabadadaari got wrapped up yesterday. Been thro' challenging times. The delay escalated cost by over Rs.10 million only in this project. Just imagine how much cost escalation for whole industryFace with rolling eyes (sic)’ Though people knew the lockdown had impacted the film industry, the exact figures are coming out as the films start to roll.



Kabadadaari is the official Tamil remake of Kannada hit film Kavaludaari. The film is directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy. The film has Nandita Swetha playing the female lead. Jayaprakash, Nasser play important roles in the film.

Simon K King

has composed music for the film. The film is expected to release once theatres open.
