Popular Tamil film producer and politician RM Veerappan, who has produced films starring MG Ramachandran, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, passed away earlier today. The 97 year old senior Dravidian leader and film maker died in a private hospital in Chennai.
Veerappan, who was late Tamil Nadu chief minister MG Ramachandran’s friend and mentor, was admitted to hospital on Sunday. He breathed his last on Tuesday. After the final respects by the Tamil Nadu Cheif Minister MK Stalin to the departed leader, the body will be taken to his Thirumalai Pillai road residence and his funeral rites will be done in Nungambakkam cremation ground by 4 pm tomorrow 10th, April , 2024.
The veteran politician is known in the Tamil film fraternity for producing films starring MG Ramachandran, like Kaavalkaaran, Rickshwakaran, Idhayakani. He had also produced films starring Rajinikanth, which inlcude Moondru Mugam, Thanga Magan, Panakkaran and Baasha among a few others. With Kamal Haasan, he had made films Kaaki Sattai and Kadhal Parisu.
