Election is the flavour of the season and Kollywood’s already had a few films recently, with politics as their the backdrop. Now, here comes another movie, which is billed as a political satire.
Obama Ungalukkaga
, helmed by
Balakrishna
, has
Prithvi Rajan and
Janagaraj playing crucial roles, while debutant
Poornisha
has been roped in as the female lead. Shot extensively in the city in a span of 25 days, the highlight of the film, according to the director, apart from the political references, is the presence of a big star who appears in a scene.
Balakrishna says, “The story revolves around two cab drivers in Chennai. The entry of a minister’s daughter in their lives changes the course of the story. We are done with the re-recording of the film. Once Janagaraj completes dubbing, we’ll wrap up the post-production as well. I’ve known Janagaraj for a long time — I had asked him to allot only a few days for this film, but he was ready to shoot for 20 days.”
