Prabhudeva’s Rekla will be a crime thriller set in a village and city

Prabhudeva has recently signed up for a film titled Rekla that will be directed by Anbu, who had previously directed Sibiraj’s cop thriller Walter. The director says that while the entire film doesn’t revolve around rekla race, it will be part of the film.“This will be a commercial crime thriller with elements of action. It is set against the backdrops of both a village and a city. The film revolves around a guy who comes to the city from a village. An incident happens when he arrives here and what follows next forms the plot,” he reveals.Prabhudeva will be sporting a rural look throughout the film, he informs. Sharing why he chose the actor-choreographer for the lead character, he says, “The film needed a star like him... someone who is slightly mature and at the same time, has an instant connect with audiences. After listening to the script, Prabhudeva master, too, felt that this was very different from the films he is currently doing and instantly said OK. At the same time, the film will have all the elements that one expects from Prabhudeva master.”Ghibran will be composing the music for this film, and the music director has already begun composing work. The director says that he is finalising the rest of the cast and crew.The shoot of the film will start by the end of February. “We will be shooting in Chennai, Pudukottai, Madurai, Kumbakonam and Goa,” he says.
