Podaa Podi joins Deepavali race

It looks like Simbu aka STR���s Podaa Podi ��� and not Vaalu ��� will finally hit screens this Deepavali. The film had been delayed by production problems for a while and Simbu had, in the meantime, started shooting for his gangster flick Vettai Mannan and the comedy Vaalu, which he earlier announced will be released for Deepavali. Podaa Podi marks the debut of Sarath Kumar���s daughter Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar, who plays the female lead.
Simbu confirmed the news on his micro-blogging page, ���Podaa Podi will be releasing for Deepavali! Vaalu has been pushed... After a very long time, will be having a Deepavali release.���
While the actor could not be reached, CT got in touch with Vignesh Shiva, the film���s director who mentioned that the post production work is going on in full swing currently.
But since Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay���s Thuppakkiis also releasing on the same day, does he think the film will be affected, considering that this is a delayed release? ���Both Thuppakki and Podaa Podi are from the same production house. Simbu is confident that this film will work as he has put in a lot of effort in it,��� he says, adding that Vaalu is now likely to hit screens for Pongal.
