Piaa strikes gold

Piaa Bajpai, the UP born model-turned-actress who has done five films (Poi Solla Porom, Aegan, Goa, Bale Pandiya and the yet-to-be released Ko) in Kollywood, seems to have struck gold with her latest ad.
The advertisement, which was premiered during the World Cup telecast and features a pregnant-looking Piaa taking revenge on her ex-boyfriend, has been voted the most popular ad on television for that week according to a survey conducted by a marketing agency.
Speaking from Mumbai, Piaa tells TOI, ���������I have been flooded with calls after this ad was premiered during the World Cup. I have done about 80 television commercials, but this one has surpassed all expectations. I���������ve gotten offers for more ads from Mumbai. As of now, I���������m waiting for the release of Ko, which I���������m sure will get me more accolades and roles in the south.���������
Piaa is not signing any new films, as she is waiting for her Ko ��������� in which she plays a journalist ��������� to release. Gushes the actress, ���������The film will showcase me in a totally different manner, something different from what you have seen of me on screen so far. The audiences are going to fall in love with my character. Director K V Anand sir told me that it was a role that was tailor-made for me.��������� She adds that she features in two of the six songs in the film. Reveals the actress, ���������I���������m there in Ennamo Yedho... and Aga Naga..., both hit numbers.���������
Piaa feels there is nothing to match Tamil cinema, which has given her name, fame and reach. But at the moment, she says that her career as a model is booming. Explains the actress, ���������As a person hailing from the Hindi heartland of Uttar Pradesh, my ambition in life is to make it big as a Bollywood actress. The ads that I have done have given me a new-found confidence. Though I���������m getting Bollywood offers, I���������d like to work with a director who will give me a good solid role. Till then, my heart is in Kollywood and I will sign new films once Ko releases in April.���������
