Hit Malayalam film Pavithram, which starred Mohanlal in the lead will now be remade in Tamil. Says our source from the production house behind the remake, “The original, released in 1994, was a superhit film, and recently, Bollywood Badhaai Ho, also loosely based on Pavithram, did extremely well at the box office, too. And since both these films did well at the box office, came this decision to remake Pavithram in Tamil. They are in talks with
Sivakarthikeyan and
Dulquer
Salmaan. An official announcement with the details of cast and crew will be announced soon. The team also wants to do a Telugu remake. But things are yet to be finalised.”
