must mean that he knows he can get away with his reprehensible behaviour with impunity. With DMK suspending his membership, and some production houses refusing to associate with him any longer, maybe it’s, finally, end of the road for him. Here below is a brief timeline of his recent infamous utterances:
October 2018: When Chinmayi made her allegations against him in the wake of the #MeTooIndia movement, the actor opined that such accusations will only bring bad name to the industry. At the launch of the film Avathara Vettai, he said, “It’s high time actresses stop sharing their horrific stories which happened to them years ago. If an actress says she was approached by someone to sleep with them seven years ago, it will lead to more men approaching her.”
January 2018: During the inauguration of YG Madhuvanthi Arun’s drama, the actor said he failed to understand the obsession filmmakers have here for actresses from north India. Most of the actresses from north do not get the lip-sync right, and they come here without wearing clothes, he quipped.
May 2016: At the audio launch of the film Iraivi, the actor took a jibe against the event’s anchor Nisha because she forgot to mention his name along with the lead actors of the movie. He called her “karumam” on the dais, and added, “I often warn these anchors not to be in my bad book”.
February 2016: While talking about the irregularities in Nadigar Sangam election, the actor, in a video interview responding to allegations about inviting women to sleep with him, he remarked, “It’s natural for a man to approach woman. You need to worry only if a man invites another man.”
March 2015: At the press meet of the film En Vazhi Thani Vazhi, Radha Ravi came down heavily on popular anchor Archana for not addressing him properly on the dais. The then general secretary of Nadigar Sangam said that she should know how to speak at functions like this and what the protocol is. He warned that things would be worse if he starts speaking whatever he wants to about her.
