His Vithagan is an important film in actor-director Parthepan's career, but the man says he wasn't even aware that this was his 50th film until he started writing the invitation for the film's audio launch. He says, 'Honestly, it's not a big deal for the audience. They only want to see a film that's worth their ticket price.'
Though Parthepan has played a cop twice in his career (Abhimanyu and Ulle Veliye), he says this film will not have any resemblance to his previous flicks.
'Despite being a police officer, I pose a great challenge to the department. I play a crooked, cunning, and yet, a brilliant officer. Hence, the film's called Vithagan.'
He adds, 'Police officials and teachers are two professionals who do a noble and selfless job. They are one dedicated lot and this film will honour them.'
