'Parasakthi' censor row: Sudha Kongara directed, Sivakarthikeyan starrer bags U/A certificate - Report
Sivakarthikeyan’s much-talked-about film 'Parasakthi' has reportedly cleared the censor process. Reports say that the film has received a U/A certificate.
A certificate copy is now doing the rounds online and it is shared by Let's Cinema Twitter page. The details mention that the movie name is 'PARASAKTHI'. The language is Tamil. The movie category is UA 16+. It is certified by the Chennai regional office. The certificate date is 09-JAN-26. The certified length is 162.43 minutes.

As per reports the shared certificate also lists the main cast and crew. It mentions Editor: Sathish Suriya. Director of Photography: Ravi K Chandran ISC. Music: G V Prakash Kumar.
'Parasakthi' is said to be set against the backdrop of the anti-Hindi agitations of the 1960s in Tamil Nadu. It is also linked to the founding ideas of the DMK. Reportedly because of this sensitive theme the censor process became more tense. Still the latest update shows the film has now crossed this big hurdle.

Even after the Madras High Court ordered the CBFC to grant a U/A certificate the board has filed an appeal as reported by NDTV. The CBFC has asked for an urgent hearing and wants a revising committee to review the film again.
The board has said that the film uses emblems linked to the armed forces. They feel experts should be consulted on this matter. Reportedly the court has agreed to consider the request for an urgent hearing.
While 'Parasakthi' has finally moved ahead it seems that Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan’s journey is still not over.

Sudha Kongara stood her ground
Before this clearance, director Sudha Kongara had taken a strong stand. She had approached the CBFC Revising Committee in Mumbai. This happened after she refused to accept heavy cuts asked by the board. Reports said the CBFC demanded 15 more cuts apart from earlier changes.
