The producer of the Dabanngg remake feels that theatres in Tamil Nadu lack quality projectors
Ramesh, the producer of Simbu's forthcoming film Osthi, which is a remake of Salman Khan's Bollywood blockbuster Dabanngg, has come out with a statement that cinema halls in the state lack quality projectors and this makes audience to see low quality picture on screen. The producer feels that "not only are the audience forced to watch low quality picture, but their eyes and ears are facing health threats because of such projectors." The Osthi team is now planning to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to seek her intervention in this regard.
Ramesh, who earlier produced the Dhanush-starrer Uthamaputhiran and is now making Osthi on a grand budget, further said that there are prescribed norms for projectors to be installed at theatres. "Cinema halls should install projectors of 4K resolution," he says adding that the Hollywood regulator for issues related to cinema technology prescribes the above norm for theatres worldwide.
