Ramarajan and Kanaga in the lead roles, was a blockbuster movie. The film ran for more than a year in theatres. The banana comedy between Goundamani – Senthil is still a hit with people. The film’s songs were composed by Ilaiyaraja and they too added to the allure of the movie.
Recently, Gangai Amaran has revealed that he has plans for doing a sequel to the movie and he has been discussing the same with Ramarajan and some of the actors who were a part of the movie.
The film, which was released in 1989, had Vaagai Chandrasekhar, Santhana Bharathi, Gandhimathi, Shanmugasundaram, and Kovai Sarala, among others. Gangai Amaran has informed that the sequel will revolve around the sons and daughters of the central characters of Karagattakaran. However, it’s yet to be known as to who, among the current crop of actors will be a part of the movie.
