No cards please: Sameera Reddy
Not only was her bank account hacked, but Sameera Reddys hacker offered her some of the best advice
Sameera Reddy has a taken a vow this year shell stop doing any online transactions and will not use credit/debit cards. The reason for the actress change of heart is simple her account was hacked a month ago and the miscreant actually called her to tell her the same!
It was a funny, yet frightening experience, she recalls, I kept getting calls from an unknown number on a day and so picked it up.

The caller said that he was a hacker of Indian origin based in the US and that his team had just hacked my credit card account. I was confused at first, but after I checked my account balance, I realized that what he said was true and that almost 4 lakhs had been withdrawn without my knowledge.
The hacker then told her that hed refund the money that he had taken but could not do anything about the amount that his other hacker friends had withdrawn. He told me that after he had finished the hacking process, he casually looked at my name, she says. Thats when the hacker realized that the person was a celebrity and an actress whose movies he had watched and enjoyed!
I was reticent when he said that at first but after getting to know that he had indeed reimbursed a lakh into my account, I didnt know how to react, says Sameera, In fact, he even gave me tips on how and where to use my credit cards and warned me against online transactions. It was one of the most bizarre experiences Ive ever had. Now, Ive understood that shopping online is never completely safe and Ill prefer using cash and resort to personal purchases.
