New twist to old tales

Iyakkunar Sigaram K Balachanders cult classics, Manmadha Leelai and Thillu Mullu, are all set to be remade in Tamil. Producer Pushpa Kandasamy, who has the rights to these films, is currently in talks with several top directors for the same.
Confirming the news, Pushpa says, Manmadha Leelai and Thillu Mullu, starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth respectively, were big hits when they hit screens.
1x1 polls
They were considered trendsetters in their particular genres. We are now working towards remaking these two films in Tamil and are holding discussion with a few directors. The themes of the films are not time-bound and will make sense to todays audience. We will retain the essence of the theme, but spin around a new tale. Quiz her if theres a chance of KB wielding the megaphone for any of the remakes, and she says, We are working out on all the probabilities. Its too early to divulge more details. So, wholl be the lucky actors wholl get to play the roles made memorable by Kamal and Rajini? Lets wait and watch!
Manmadha leelai
The film was about the life of a womaniser and his several fleeting affairs. Though the film was criticised for its bold content when it released, it received cult status with passing years. Kamal Haasans performance as a man who cant keep his eyes, and hands, off women was highly praised.
Thillu mulu
A remake of Gol Maal, Thillu Mullu was about a man who created a fictionary brother to fool his boss. It was probably Rajinikanths first attempt at a full-length comedy; it was also the first time that the Superstar shaved off his moustache for a film. Interestingly, Kamal Haasan did a cameo as a lawyer in this film.
