Never thought I will come this far and win a Youth Icon Award at the age of 40: Dhanush

Actor Dhanush, who is currently working on 'Captain Miller', graced the closing ceremony of Dakshin CII summit 2023 in the city. He was honoured with the Youth Icon Award and received it from the Union Minister Anurag Thakur. The actor also spoke about his journey in the industry till date.
Dhanush said, "My sincere thanks to CII for Youth Icon Award and its a great honour.I never thought I will come this far and also win this Youth Icon award at the age of 40 (smiles). It's just a reminder that there is always so much to dream, achieve and conquer. With the kind of looks that I possessed, it wasn't accepted in the industry when I entered it. Though this was the scenario, I kept on dreaming to become so many things and here I am. I have lot more to achieve and I take this opportunity to thank my parents, almighty and wonderful directors without whom I wouldn't have made it here."
He added, "And not to forget, it was producer Tyagarajan who canceled the shoot of Captain Miller today, so that I could make it here and receive the award. Luckily, I also got some time to spend time with my kids and family."
