Netizens slam AR Rahman after composer posts highlights video of Chennai concert

AR Rahman had his 'Marakumma Nenjam' concert in Chennai on September 10. The event faced a lot of backlash and complaints from netizens, as there were multiple complaints about overcrowding and illegal entries. The music composer took to social media to share a video as highlights from the concert, and the administrator of the account has posted it with comments turned off.

However, the video made internet users slam AR Rahman as being insensitive, and a few even called him out for being ignorant.

The Chennai concert created a lot of mishaps for the people who attended the concert, including stampede and molestation. After a detailed inquiry, the police have registered a complaint against the event organisers, ACTC Events, citing mismanagement. The organisers after the concert, pleaded for forgiveness through social media. Their statement read, "Grateful to Chennai and the legendary @arrahman.

While many called it out for being a scam as they were not able to enter the venue even with a valid ticket, the music composer took to social media to state that he will bear the loss and even return the ticket amount for the people who were able to enter the venue. Taking action against the mismanagement, the state government has also transferred three police officials, including an IPS officer, for not doing proper crowd management.
