But the latest is that the release of the film directed by Suresh has been postponed to May 24 due to the release of Vishal's 'Ayogya', Jiiva's 'Kee' and '100' on May 10. The makers of 'Neeya 2' have announced that the film has been pushed to May 24 release as per distributors request.
The film is not a sequel to the Kamal Hassan starrer 'Neeya' but will share some similarities with the core plot. Also, it is evident from the posters that the film will incorporate snakes into its narrative, with Raai Laxmi and Varalaxmi said to be donning a 'Naagin' look.
The film written and directed by L.Suresh has been cleared by the Censor Board with a clean 'U' certificate. The film has Bala Saravanan, who will provide comic relief in the film. Shabir has been roped in to compose music for the film. Gopi Krishna will be in charge of editing the film, while Rajavel Mohan will crank the camera.
