Nassar reveals his son's first word after 14 days in a coma was Thalapathy Vijay

Actor Nassar is renowned for his ability to portray performance-oriented roles in South Indian films for over three decades. In 2014, his son experienced a devastating road accident that left him in a coma. Now, the actor has revealed that his son’s recovery from the tragic incident had a surprising connection to Thalapathy Vijay.

In a recent interview with Madan Gowri, Nassar shared that his son, Noorul Hassan Faizal, was in a coma for 14 days after the accident, but the 23-year-old regained consciousness calling Vijay’s name instead of his parents’. “He was unconscious for 14 days, in a coma, and was taken to Singapore for treatment. When he woke up, he didn’t say ‘Amma’ or ‘Appa’, but he said ‘Vijay’,” the actor revealed.


The 'Nayakan' actor and his wife initially assumed that their son was referring to his friend Vijay Kumar, who had also been involved in the accident. They felt somewhat relieved and happy, thinking that his memory was intact. However, Faizal later failed to recognise his friend and gazed at him with a blank expression, which left the family puzzled.

Nassar’s wife, a trained psychologist, soon realised that Faizal was actually referring to actor Thalapathy Vijay, not his friend. To aid in his recovery, they started showing him Vijay’s films and playing his songs to stimulate his memory.

Nassar revealed that Vijay visited Faizal several times in the hospital after learning about this. The 'Bigil' actor, displaying thoughtful kindness, gifted him a ukulele after discovering his passion for music. “Vijay holds a significant place in both my life and Faizal’s,” Nassar disclosed.

On the professional front, Vijay was last seen in 'The Greatest of All Time – GOAT' directed by Venkat Prabhu. He is set to appear next in 'Thalapathy 69', helmed by H Vinoth, which is anticipated to be his final film before he embarks on a full-time political career.
